Sperlonga has been my heartthrob place to vacation every summer for the past 35 years. There’s something alluring about the seaside in Sperlonga: magical, penetrating and addictive.
The beach is magnificent and a wonderful place to luxuriate in the warm, clean water. You can walk quite far out into the water away from the beachfront before the water gets deep, or sit at the water’s edge and look out towards Lazio’s Pontine Islands that on clear days are visible. Ponza, the largest of the Pontine Islands, is frequently visible and on crystal clear days Ventotene is too.
