Valentine's Day this year is on Tuesday and my guess is that since my weekly newsletter comes out on a Saturday lots of you who are reading this might be celebrating today.

What do you associate with Valentine's Day? For me, it's about Saint Valentine and love and beautiful red hearts, and lots of chocolate.

Valentine's Day originated as a Christian feast day, honoring several early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine. There is no celebration for Saint Valentine in Italy, but it can nonetheless be traced back to several martyrdom stories in two cities in Italy that are close to my heart.
