The Lunigiana, located at the northernmost tip of Tuscany, is a beautiful and rugged region dominated by the Apennine Mountains and steeped in history. Although it’s off the beaten tourist path, Lunigiana offers a glimpse into a Tuscany where time seems to stand still. A Journey Through Lunigiana’s History

Lunigiana's history is as layered and complex as its landscape. Named after the ancient Roman city of Luna, the region was once a critical outpost for the Roman Empire. Luna thrived due to its proximity to the sea, facilitating trade and commerce, but fell into decline alongside the Roman Empire, leaving behind only ruins as a reminder of its ancient importance.
