I've made a philosophical choice to not discuss politics and other sensitive issues on my website, social media and newsletters. That being said it's impossible to ignore the elephant in the room if I’m committed to sharing the most pertinent Italy information with you readers.
Mario Draghi has been Prime Minister for 19 months and guided Italy through the Covid crisis and the post-Covid economic repercussions, the energy crisis Europe is facing right now as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and more.
That not withstanding political opponents are willing to see the demise of the Draghi government despite the devastating implication it will have for Italy. The final outcome has yet to be seen but Italy will once again be facing elections this coming fall on September 25th. In the meantime Mario Draghi will continue on at the helm of a custodial government.
