Just how much do you actually know about Italian islands?
I've lived here for decades and honestly I'm just starting to dig deeper into the Italian island thing. Lots of reasons I'm finally doing it and mostly it's because I'm an island, coastal and beach person at heart, through and through.
I know the biggies that everyone knows: Capri, Sardinia, Sicily. But there are tons of others and I'm on a quest to do some serious Italian island exploration.
I've also been doing lots of wine podcasts and so much great wine comes from the Italian islands, many of which are volcanic and yield great wines. Definitely another reason to dig into the Italian islands.
It's not always easy to get to many of the Italian islands. Either there aren't frequent ferry boats, if any, or it's a question of the seasons or inclement weather that makes island access impossible.
